On Saturday 13th October, the Windsor Memory Walk in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society, took place at Dorney Lake.
As mentioned in an earlier post, following Gerry Anderson revealing on 28th June that he has Alzheimer’s Disease, both he and his son Jamie Anderson have been supporting the Memory Walks around the UK to raise money for the charity. Sadly, Gerry Anderson was unable to attend the Windsor event, but Jamie was joined by Matt Zimmerman, the voice of Alan Tracy in Thunderbirds, to help start the main 10km walk.
Jamie Anderson still has his JustGiving website page, if you would like to make a donation.
Dorney Lake, having hosted the Rowing and Kayak events for London 2012, was an interesting and enjoyable location for the walk itself. For more information about the venue, follow the link to Dorney Lake.
It was good to see other Fanderson members there on the day, with the whole event being a positive way of saying thank-you to Gerry Anderson for so many years of enjoyment.
