On 28th June, Gerry Anderson revealed that he has Alzheimer’s Disease. Since then both he and his son Jamie Anderson have been campaigning to support the Alzheimer’s Society, specifically with the Memory Walk events taking place at various locations across the UK.
Earlier today, Jamie launched his JustGiving page to raise funds for the Windsor Memory Walk on 13th October. As Jamie says on the page: “Dad and I will be walking at the Windsor Memory Walk on 13th October, along with a strong contingent of friends, family, and fans – please donate and join us”. “I will also be walking all three of the Society’s marathon Memory Walks throughout the month September”.

On a personal note, as I was born just a few weeks after ITV started broadcasting, I literally grew up with Gerry Anderson’s productions from Twizzle onwards. If like me, you enjoyed many years of entertainment and inspiration from all the series (and a few feature films as well), please make a donation if you can, for a very worthwhile cause.
